GLOBAL ASSIMILATION AND COMPETENCY SKILLS TRAINING PROGRAM

Patient Assessment Skills

This is one unique skill that nurses and therapists must have mastery of. In this class, nurses and therapists will learn how to perform efficient assessment of their patient beyond taking the patient’s vital signs and create an environment for human connection and healing. The caring practice theory is integrated with the clinical aspects of nursing and therapy as essential to patient safety, quality and service satisfaction.

Also included in this session are documentation, care planning and discharge planning skills.

Critical Thinking and Communication Skills

This skill training will enhance a healthcare professional’s intuitive nature to problem solving, a key to patient assessment and understanding care plans. As a healthcare professional, you are the patient’s advocate. So applying the theories one has learned as an undergraduate is as equally important as using the most important skill – one’s reasoning and critical thinking skills. Our students will leave the program learning about tools they can use to help them quickly assess each situation, understand the background behind the issue, quickly draw key analysis and finally, come up with their recommendations.

Effective and timely communications are keys to success in ensuring patient safety. Pillar will teach students how to confidently speak and engage in effective conversations using practice sessions that are interactive and using real-life assimilation. This approach will help the students gain confidence in engaging themselves in future conversations with patients, families, doctors, other healthcare professionals and regulators or administrators.

Workplace Safety

As a healthcare worker, the healthcare professional also has to protect himself from working environment hazards. In this class, the students will learn about the most common injuries that can happen to them as well as real working tactics on how to avoid these injuries and be able to perform their tasks safely and efficiently.

Patient Safety and Quality of Care

This module will teach a healthcare worker hands-on tactics on how to protect their patients from needless harm.

Students will learn about the most common causes of death and injury to the patients. They will also learn about the best practices used by successful organizations in the US. Having such knowledge, the healthcare professional, whichever part of the world they work, will be a walking example of how a professional healthcare worker should deliver high quality care to their patient. Medication safety falls, hospital acquired infections and pressure ulcers will be discussed in class with significant focus on prevention tactics.
